Programs
The San Luis Obispo Coastkeeper is the only environmental watchdog dedicated solely to enforcement of water quality,
watershed protection, and coastal planning regulations in San Luis Obispo, and northern Santa Barbara counties.
Our current efforts are invested in the following areas:

A. Eyes on the Water

Clean, abundant water is essential to the environmental, human, and economic health of the Central Coast. SLO Coastkeeper's
top priorities are:

STORMWATER: Prevent and reduce stormwater pollution.

AGRICULTURAL RUNOFF: To reduce pollution and support sustainable agricultural water use.

ENERGY: Reduce water use and promote low greenhouse gas technologies.

WATER SUPPLY & STREAM FLOW: Ensure sustainable water supplies to support healthy ecosystems.

If you believe pollution, irresponsible practices, or proposed projects are threatening your local water resources, please contact the SLO Coastkeeper. Ph & Fax: 805-781-9932
Email: Coastkeeper@epicenteronline.org

B. Life on the Edge

SLO Coastkeeper works to protect and improve healthy, diverse ecosystems on the Central Coast. Priorities include:

MARINE HABITATS
WATERSHED ECOSYSTEMS

C. Public Empowerment

Our organization provides educational and training services to groups and individuals seeking to participate in government decisions affecting the environment and public trust resources. We believe increased public participation in agency decisions will improve environmental protection and the quality of life on the Central Coast. In addition, SLO Coastkeeper provides a weekly ALERT regarding agency and permit issues affecting water, land use and quality of life on the California Central Coast. To join our Alert List submit your email address and request to: Coastkeeper@epicenteronline.org

D. Intern Program

As a core corporate value to pass our environmental vision forward, EPI offers an Internship Program targeting Junior, Senior, and Graduate students enrolled at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Internships are geared toward students pursuing careers in field biology, planning, environmental law, journalism, consulting and environmental advocacy.

Contact the EPI-Center for more information about the availability of internships.
